Telco company Optus is chief sponsor of an Australia-Israel Chamber of Commerce event this week. What’s the scam?
The scam is Optus professes to adhere to the “United Nations Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights (UNGPs) and the International Bill of Human Rights comprising the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Optus is also a signatory to the United Nations Global Compact and it’s 10 guiding principles”.
Israel has resumed its genocide in Gaza by starving an entire people. Optus is major sponsor at a lunch in Brisbane on Thursday at which ANZ chief executive Shayne Elliott is speaking. As detailed here, the AICC is associated with weapons companies and illegal settlements in Palestine. Questions were put by MWM to chairman Paul O’Sullivan and the Optus board. There was no response.
